How Sculptra Works
When Sculptra is injected into the deep dermis, it acts as a collagen regeneration trigger.
The PLLA microparticles are gradually absorbed, stimulating fibroblasts to produce new collagen strands.
Over the next 4–12 weeks, this newly formed collagen rebuilds your skin’s inner foundation—creating soft, subtle, natural volume that improves with each session.
Sculptra is often called a “collagen biostimulator” rather than a filler, because it helps your skin restore itself rather than filling lines instantly.

Who Is a Good Candidate
Sculptra is ideal for clients who:
Have age-related facial volume loss or sagging
Want to stimulate collagen naturally rather than use filler
Prefer a gradual, subtle improvement over time
Desire long-lasting, natural results without surgery
Want to maintain youthful contours preventatively in their 30s–60s
How the Treatment Is Performed
Your skin will be cleansed and a topical numbing cream applied for comfort.
Sculptra is reconstituted with sterile water and lidocaine, then injected using a fine needle or cannula into the deep dermal or subdermal layer, depending on the area.
Your injector at One Medspa will use advanced, layered injection techniques to ensure even placement and natural contours.
A treatment session takes 30–45 minutes, and most clients need a series of 2–3 sessions spaced about 4–6 weeks apart for best results.
Pre-Treatment Preparation
Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, and other blood thinners for 3 days prior (if medically cleared)
Discontinue retinoids or exfoliating acids 2 days before
Arrive with clean skin (no makeup or skincare products)
Hydrate well before your appointment
Inform your provider of any recent fillers, threads, or dental procedures
Post-Care Instructions
Massage 5-5-5 rule: Massage the treated area for 5 minutes, 5 times a day, for 5 days.
Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol, or heat exposure for 24 hours.
Expect mild swelling, redness, or tenderness for a few days.
Apply cold compresses as needed during the first 24 hours.
Avoid facial treatments, lasers, or microneedling for 2 weeks.
Stay hydrated and use SPF 30+ daily.
Results develop gradually over 4–12 weeks and continue to improve as collagen builds.
When to Expect Results
Immediate fullness you see post-injection is from sterile water and subsides in 24–48 hours.
Over the next few weeks, new collagen forms, restoring volume and firmness.
Final results appear around 8–12 weeks and last up to 2 years or more with maintenance sessions.
